A message from Utah Boys State regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
To begin, the health, welfare and safety of our youth participants and the volunteer staff is a top priority.
As anticipated there are a lot of questions concerning the virus and its impact on whether or not Boys State will go on as scheduled.
At the present time, we are continuing to plan toward conducting the program as scheduled, the second week of June.
We are monitoring the situation with our partners at Weber State University, The American Legion Department of Utah,
and State and local health officials.
Currently there are no recommendations, from federal, state or local health officials to cancel Utah Boys State 2020.
We will continue to monitor developments related to COVID-19. Our planning preparations will include all the necessary and
prudent personal hygiene & sanitation resources determined appropriate to minimize potential health risks.
Finally, there are a lot of eyes on this situation, all intent on being well informed so as to make the absolute best decision.
We appreciate that we are all in this together, social separation, concern about what’s going on, and how our lives will be
impacted in the near future weigh heavily on our minds. These challenging times require that we remain vigilant, determined
and optimistic that we will indeed come out on the other side a more resilient, unified and civically engaged society,
after all that’s what Boys State is all about. "When the going gets tough, the tough get going." Stay safe and be well.
In the event that Utah Boys State 2020 is canceled, all monies received will be returned to whomever paid
them as soon as we can write and mail checks.
We will continue to update on this website and on social media. We will send emails as necessary. Links can be found on the
