Biography

Sun Young Lee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Teacher Education at Weber State University. Dr. Lee earned her Ph.D. degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Curriculum Studies and Teacher Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. With her Ph.D. minor degree in the Transdisciplinary Studies on Visual Cultures, her interdisciplinary research critically examines the discourses of observation in teacher education, focusing on how teachers are trained to see the differences as a way to think about the diversity and social justice. Dr. Lee is currently working on multiple types of research, including historical study on algorithmic reasoning in contemporary U.S. teacher education, international and comparative teacher education, critical media literacy, and sociocultural approaches to literacy education. Dr. Lee teaches (broadly defined) Literacy and Diversity in undergraduate and graduate programs at Weber State.
